Intel has recently adopted the latest anti-theft technology which provides a reliable protection of data, integrated Computrace asset management, and theft recovery system.
This development is considered to be a remarkable breakthrough in terms of protecting the rights of consumers since the rate of notebook theft is fast-rising due to the fact that many mobile computers are mostly targeted by thieves due to its high price.
The Absolute software will be featured on the upcoming processor platform which will be then put in to laptop system. This technology is seen as a key component and reliable solution of Intel’s Anti-theft Technology (ATT) feature.
The Software Company is known for its most popular product called Computrace LoJack which can be found in some notebooks. This technology feature has recovered more than 6,000 stolen laptops since it was first introduced to the market. Other products from the Computrace LoJack series support features which includes IT asset management, software management, and remote data delete.
Chairman and CEO of Absolute software John Livingston said that for more than a decade, the company had single-handedly developed the market for BIOS-persistent Internet-based tracking of portable computers. He added that Computrace is highly capable or deleting data and physically recovering lost or stolen computers, assisting customers while complying with data privacy regulations.
According to Livingston, the Computrace LoJack for mobile computer system has resulted to the recovery of 80 stolen laptops every week. He added that Apple Macbooks, specifically the Macbooks Air, accounted for a majority of stolen computers and two-thirds of notebook thefts occur internally, this means that most of thieves have an access to computer laptops.
Livingston also revealed that the company is further improving the existing software to support Intel’s new CPUs that are equipped with ATT Technology; this will support more sophisticated data security system and computer recovery features.
In a case where a laptop has been stolen, the software remotely erases sensitive data, plus, it has the ability pinpoint the location of the stolen device which makes it possible for the authorities to apprehend the thieves.
With this cutting-edge technological innovation, people may expect that the rate of notebook theft will dramatically decrease since the anti-theft security software will discourage criminals to steal mobile computers. Also, with this software, consumers are now protected and will benefit a lot from this since its system allows the authorities to easily locate the place of the stolen notebooks and perhaps apprehend thieves.
According to Intel, the company will begin to adopt the new ATT Technology to its CPUs and this may be introduced before this year ends.
